Steve McCracken, Senior Pastor Steve McCracken is in his sixteenth year as Senior Pastor at Grace Point Community Church. Prior to his pastorate, he served on the Pastoral Staff at First Evangelical Free Church of Fullerton, California. He pastored collegians for many of his thirteen years under Senior Pastor, Chuck Swindoll. Steve is a graduate of Cal State University in Fullerton. He holds a Master of Arts degree in Christian Education from Talbot Theological Seminary and a Master of Divinity degree from Fuller Theological Seminary. His first love is his wife of more than 26 years, Debbie. They are the proud parents of three children ages 17, 15, and 13. The defining theme of Steve's life and ministry is best summarized in the affirmation ... Live your life for an audience of One. In his personal life and throughout his ministry involvements, Steve is truly passionate about pursuing a journey with Jesus where Christ is more clearly behind the "wheel of his life". He is captured by the prayer ... his daily desire ... "Lord, make me more like You and less like me!" God has given Steve a pastor's heart. He finds regular pleasure in walking with the “weary and burdened” through life’s storms and struggles, while assisting people in reaching out to God who is “our constant companion in times of trouble” (Psalm 46:1). Steve's personal passion is driven by a desire to “not waste his life.” As the renowned missionary C. T. Studd once said, “’Only one life ‘twill soon be past, only what’s done for Christ will last.” Stirred by impactful images from Scripture that speak of our span of years as a “handbreadth” or “breath” (Psalm 39:4-5), Steve seeks to daily make a difference by pointing people to “The Difference Maker – Jesus Christ.” A continuing interest in Steve’s heart is to pray for people God has called him to pastor. Why? These simple words by Jeremiah the prophet tell of Steve’s attraction to pray: “Ah Sovereign Lord, You have made the heavens and the earth by Your great power and outstretched arm. Nothing is too hard for You!” (Jeremiah. 32:17) God continues to grow the hearts of His people at Grace Point with a vision to reach out to others in Jesus’ name. Our recently completed parking expansion is testament of our belief that God has called us to show and share His Good News with others. And we do! And we won’t stop! Though the needs and concerns of a thriving congregation can be consuming, Steve still makes family time his highest priority. And few activities say fun more than family camping trips! “Church in the park, anyone?! ‘Park Pastor,’ now I like the sound of that!” Come be a part of our church.
